1. A message from the COVID-19 Task Force

The Fallon County COVID19 Task Force has received many questions regarding the current COVID19 situation and, more specifically, our directives and guidance. We want to take this opportunity to help you understand how and why certain decisions are being made.

First and foremost, we know that this virus carries an extremely high transmission rate and we want to reiterate that the health of our community’s citizens is our number one concern….because of this, we have been quite aggressive in our directives and guidance. We truly have our county’s health and well being at heart.

Secondly, these directives are not taken lightly. We meet daily and take our guidance directly from our local health officer, Dr. Darryl Espeland. This group consists of county commissioners, the mayor, public health officials, county DES officials, school administrators, law enforcement, and other entities.

If you, or anyone you know, have specific questions regarding the directives and guidance set forth, we urge you to call the Fallon County Health Department at (406)-778-2824 or Fallon County DES at (406)-978-9333.
